History

Located in the picturesque Nainital district of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the school has a rich history. The school began as a junior high school in 1952, was upgraded to a high school in 1976, and then to intermediate in 1981. In recognition of its outstanding performance, the school was nominated as a model school by the state government in 2016. To honor the martyr, Bahadur Singh Matiyali, the school was renamed as Shaid Bahadur Singh Matiyali Government Model Inter College, Patlot in 2018. The school became a Atal Utkrisht school in 2021 and now it has become a PM Shri school.

Over the past 71 years, this educational institute has produced exceptional results and its students have played important roles in different fields both in India and abroad. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers, the school has made tremendous progress in educational, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including science exhibitions, energy conservation, general knowledge competitions, sports, art, and literature. With smart classes and computer education, the school emphasizes the overall development of its 300+ students.
